The final dissemination conference of CREST – one of CounteR’s sister projects, funded through the Horizon 2020 Programme – will take place on 21-22 February 2023 in Athens. CounteR hosted a presentation of CREST as a sister project in its first public webinar in April 2022.

CREST’s conclusive event will take place in a hybrid format. Two representatives of the CounteR consortium, from IMG and EI, will participate in this conference, which will feature a special panel, dedicated to presentations of sister projects. In addition to CounteR, the other projects that will be presented during the CREST final conference include ODYSSEUS, STARLIGHT, CTC, and LAW-GAME.

The presentation and discussion topics will include cross-border fights against organized crime, as well as addressing the needs of victims as a core element of counter-terrorism responses. The two-day agenda also contains themes such as the protection of public figures in motorcades and public spaces, and counter terrorism security in crowded areas.

The conference will convene participants and panellists from leading organisations, including CounteR consortium members, as well as renown experts and practitioners from the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), the Protection and Guard Service (SPP), the Bavarian Department of Policing (BayHfoed), the Munich Police Department, the Portugese Judiciary Police (PJ), the Hellenic Police, the University of Vienna, the European Anti-Cybercrime Technology Development Association (EACTDA), Europol, the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA), and Victim Support Europe (VSE).
